Assurance Specialists of Texas was established in 1980 under the name of Alan Schriewer General Insurance Agency, a sole proprietorship and was incorporated in 1987 with the name change to Assurance Specialists of Texas, Inc.

Our focus has always been to write a niche class of business for non-franchised car dealers in Texas. Over the years, the agency and its principal owner and president, Alan Schriewer, have written this class of business either as a retail agent, surplus lines GA, MGA, and has the appropriate licenses to handle the duties required. Mr. Schriewer and his staff have performed all procedures necessary to underwrite this class of business from sales and service, underwriting, motor vehicle reports, inspection reports, policy issuance, collecting and reporting of surplus lines, taxes and more. We have written for numerous insurance companies admitted and non-admitted such as The Gulf Group, Contractors Bonding and Insurance Company and The Insurance Company.
